Dear DPYB families,
We had a fun run at Summer Ball Camp. Unfortunately, Summer Ball Camp has come to an early end. Sunday July 12th was the last day. The County and State have dictated this. We don’t know how long we will be without baseball, but DPYB will keep you informed via email and our website.
Greg Doss, Summer Ball Commissioner
Dana Kislig, President DPYB
We want to thank the players, families, City of Dana Point and the community. We have recieved so much support from everyone. We had people cheering us from the bike trail, community members saying nice things to our staff, and many personal well wishes. DPYB loves being a part of our wonderful city. We hope that we can enjoy youth baseball again soon!
Recent quote we received from a Parent: "We had the best time today. Please keep us a the top of the list when things start again."
AGAIN THANK YOU ALL

Dear DPYB Family,
We wanted to inform you that our board of directors has met and made the very tough decision to cancel the remainder of our Spring rec season. However, we will be offering a series of baseball camps, clinics, “Sandlot” style baseball games (“day camps” aka “Summer Ball”), commencing June 22 through July 12th, and a significantly earlier to start to Fall Ball.
The wonderful City of Dana Point has worked hard on our behalf to get our fields back to us with the approval of OC health officials and the State of California. The City really deserves many thanks.
DPYB is an all-volunteer 100% non-profit that offers low-cost and no-cost baseball to Dana Point residents and its surrounding communities. We really are the lowest rec sport in the entire county (about $1-$2/hr. depending on the division). Our registrations are actually priced at a loss and we make up the difference and subsidize our costs through corporate sponsors and other fundraisers. Because of COVID-19, we incurred a significant loss due to the exodus of sponsors and inability to complete our fundraisers this season.
We realize that everyone is facing different challenges in this environment and we wish we could provide refunds, but we cannot. Almost all of our costs are upfront and are paid several months before the respective season even starts. In our more than 50-year history, we have never had to end a season early, nor lost sponsors and fundraisers like we did this year.
As a commitment to our DPYB families, we do plan to offer a discount to our upcoming Fall Ball registration for those whom sadly lost out on a full Spring Season. We will do this by working hard to get back our sponsors and creating more business relationships. We have also applied for several government assistance programs
We thank you again for being part of our DPYB family. While we are disappointed that we have cancel the Spring Season early, especially for those that are moving onto high school, we are thrilled to have our first ever Summer Ball and early start to Fall Ball. We look forward to seeing you at the ball fields and our kids being able to play outside and returning to some normalcy.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me directly at any time.
We hopefully will be offering our Fall Ball season starting in mid-August (instead of after Labor Day in September) and going to late November for both Rec and Select options. This will allow us to get in several more games than what we traditionally are able to offer. Thank you to Dana Point for allowing us to have fields early.
Dana Point Youth Baseball is a nonprofit organization that provides the means for our community youth to develop qualities and attributes that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. In order to keep our costs reasonable, the league must perform various fundraisers throughout the year. DPYB is grateful for any donation or sponsorship from your establishment to assist in this effort.

Following continued success with our Select Baseball Program, Dana Point Youth Baseball now has 9u, 10u, 11u, and 12u Select teams. Select teams are comprised of DPYB registered players, who have the desire to play a more competitive brand of Pony Baseball in a league format.
