During the 2022 PONY International Board of Directors meeting, a decision was reached to change the date for determining player eligibility from August 31 to April 30. The rule change will take effect in DPYB beginning Spring 2023. This decision was reached after careful consideration of input from leagues, parents, coaches and other sources important in the decision-making process.
That means, depending on your players birth month, they may play another season at the division they were in Spring 2022. This only affects players born in May, June, July, and August. We have players that may have moved up this Fall, and because of the age chart change, the registration system will automatically assign you to the proper (lower) division. If you prefer to have your player continue to play up a division, please make a comment on the registration and let us know by email (president@dpyb.org). Your player will then be required to be assessed in the older division.
Please see our new age chart: Age Key Link (dpyb.org)
Playing in Dana Point will be, by far, the best decision you ever make. Here are a few reasons why:
Our league has had the honor of being the largest rec baseball program in OC for the last three years. Unfortunately, we are at maximum capacity and are having to turn away families because we don't have enough baseball fields.
The City of Dana Point has partnered with us to build more baseball fields. DPYB need to raise about $250,000 of the total costs to make this happen. The plan is to build two baseball fields at Thunderbird Park (please see artistic rendition).
Your donation is 100% tax deductible. Please donate to this wonderful plan by clicking on the Venmo link below. @DanaPoint-Youthbaseball
Please click on the "Add a New Comment" link below and let us know your great idea(s). Winner(s) get free registration and equipment. 100% Confidential.
Dana Point Youth Baseball is a nonprofit organization that provides the means for our community youth to develop qualities and attributes that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. In order to keep our costs reasonable, the league must perform various fundraisers throughout the year. DPYB is grateful for any donation or sponsorship from your establishment to assist in this effort.
DPYB thanks Kids Rule Sports. KRS' store is located 4 miles from the fields. Great place for cards and memorabilia gifts. For the address, www.kidsrulesports.com. 310-701-2132
