This rule change goes into effect January 1st, 2018. However, DPYB will implement this change for the fall 2017 season, as fall baseball is designed to be a developmental season that prepares players for the level and rules they intend to play in the spring season. That means, several players may skip a level within our league for one season.
As PONY is such an influential body, many leagues have or will be following suit and adjusting their age cutoff as well.
Why: This age cut off better aligns with the school cut-off ages. Simply said, players with summer birthdays will become the younger players on the team vs. the oldest ones.

The best way to use the News page is to select only the tags that are relevant to you. For example, if you want to see news specific to your team and anything league related, then we recommend selecting the DPYB Pony League Baseball tag, your Division tag, and your Team tag in the tag filtering menu. If you select all then you may find news articles specific to other divisions or teams, and that can get messy.
